Abstract
This report is concerned with the ability patterns of man that are found in his information processing.
In 1968, Prof. Kikuya Ichikawa, Doshisha University, Kyoto, reported some way of classification of man into the Analog type and the Digital type according to his (man's) style of information processing.
On the basis of his definitions several experiments were designed and carried out to test his hypothesis and to discuss the relations between the types and other fields.
The general conclusions drawn from the data and as fellows.
1. There is some evidence that his classification of them caries validity.
2. The A type has a tendency to the visual type and Is more excellent than the D type in dealing with vague informations which cannot. or cannot without difficulty. be verbalized.
3. In contrast with this, the D type has a ten ency to the auditory type and is more excellent in dealing with definit informations which can be verballized with ease.
4. The styles of congnition, memorization and thinking of the A have a resemblance to those of the groupe who has not "Languages," such as aphasis patients and animals.
5. To some extent there seems to be a correlation between the A and cyclothymia, the D and schizonthymia.
6. It is reasonable to presume that the D surpasses the A in the degree of predominance, or of utilization, in the dominant hemisphere of brain.
